The Briton Comerford and the Belgian Jammaer win the 17th Ironman Lanzarote Canarias The British Bella Comerford and the Belgian Bert Jammaer won on Saturday, 24th May 2008, the 17th Ironman Lanzarote Canarias. For the 3.8 km swimming, 180 km bicycle, and 42.2 km marathon Comerford needed 10 hours 2 minutes and 38 seconds, whilst Jammaer reached a total time of 8:59.38....

Under the direction of Dr. Hani Mhaidli the Raquis-Unity is using successfully since four years a new surgical tecnique for the operation of tumours on the spinal column. The doctors practising at the Hospital Dr. Negrín in Gran Canaria have already treated 80 persons successfully. The tumours were removed in a six hours lasting operation and the spinal column was stabilized by titanium screws or biological cement. With this tecnique the affected persons could recover a quality of life what in 80% of all cases is very similar to a normal activity....
